Project Description:
The project aimed to modernize the Balaton Bútor Ltd. manufacturing facility in Veszprém through technological innovation, improved operational efficiency, and employee skills development.

As part of the project, a state-of-the-art 5-axis CNC machining center was acquired to support furniture manufacturing. To improve energy efficiency, wood-chip-fired boilers were installed to utilize wood waste generated during production. Organizational development consultancy services were also provided to optimize the company’s organizational structure and business processes. In addition, English language training was delivered to employees to facilitate smoother international business operations.

Project Title:
Technology Development to Mitigate the Negative Effects of Brexit

Project Description:
The challenges arising from Brexit have significantly intensified market competition, making highly efficient production conditions essential for maintaining our market presence.

The project included investments at our Veszprém production facility, such as the acquisition of modern manufacturing equipment (including a wide-belt sanding machine and spray guns), cooling equipment for the production hall, IT equipment, energy-efficiency improvements through building insulation and replacement of doors and windows, installation of a photovoltaic (solar) power system, and related electrical network upgrades. These developments ensure that we remain competitive in the United Kingdom by utilizing the latest manufacturing technologies.

Our international presence continues to expand. While we currently manufacture primarily for renowned international furniture brands and designers as a contract manufacturer, our accumulated expertise has enabled us to prepare the launch of our own international brand under the Balaton Bútor name.

This investment supports these strategic objectives through the acquisition of equipment for veneer furniture production, the construction of a hazardous waste storage facility, and the use of professional consultancy services to support international expansion.

Project Description:

Project Description:
This project was carried out jointly with Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME). Its primary objective was to develop innovative furniture and furniture-related products that combine traditional furniture manufacturing technologies with the latest digital technologies.

The project included research into new materials and semi-finished products suitable for both conventional and CNC wood-processing technologies. A comprehensive design strategy was developed based on trend analysis, market research, and technology research.

The consortium conducted extensive research into digital technologies, innovative materials, ergonomics, design methodologies, and user behavior. The project culminated in the creation of an experimental prototype office demonstrating a comprehensive vision of the workplace of the future, designed to meet the ergonomic, functional, and psychological needs of modern users, particularly Generation Y.

Project Description:
During the nine-month internship programme, the trainee initially received practical training in the on-site surveying of bespoke office and hotel furniture projects. Later, the trainee became involved in both on-site installation and workshop activities.

After four months, responsibility was gradually extended to include managing custom furniture projects. The trainee developed installation proposals tailored to specific site conditions, supported the engineering department in technical preparation and production planning, participated in furniture installation on site, and assisted in project handover.

The programme also provided valuable experience in project coordination and organizational tasks, enabling the trainee to successfully apply practical skills acquired throughout the programme.
